Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding of relational & NoSQL databases such as Oracle, SQL, CosmosDB & MongoDB.

  • Experience in developing applications using programming languages such as Java or Go.

  • Design, Strategize and implement data migration from relational/NoSQL databases to MongoDB, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

  • Develop scripts, tools, and utilities to automate and streamline the migration process.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, database administrators, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Optimize database performance using indexing strategies and scalability in MongoDB environment.

  • Working knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members throughout the migration process.

  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve migration issues and discrepancies.

  • Document migration processes, configurations, and best practices.


Skill requirements

  • Primary skillset of MongoDB with experience in data modelling, indexing and query tuning.

  • Experience with database migration projects, specifically involving Cosmos DB to MongoDB migration.

  • In-depth knowledge of Relational databases such as Oracle, SQLServer and NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and MongoDB.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go or Python.

  • Strong expertise in asynchronous processing such as multithreading.

  • Experience with relevant migration tools and utilities.  Also leverage existing tool.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred skills

  • Certification in Azure Cosmos DB or MongoDB.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

  • Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
